What are those strange acronyms after your Realtors®’ name on their business card? GRI, ABR…These letters signify that a Realtor® has taken advantage of advanced educational opportunities and training in real estate specialties, available only to Realtors®.

Most property transactions are complex procedures, requiring the knowledge and expertise of a real estate professional. There may come a time when you need the assistance of a Realtor® who is specially trained in a particular aspect of the business, such as buyer representation, "green" homes, working with seniors and more.

Through membership in the National Association of Realtors® affiliated institutes, societies, and councils, Realtors® devote themselves to continuous study of the most recent trends in their respective fields. The affiliates award specialty designations that recognize a member’s advanced education and experiences in a particular discipline. Courses offered through the affiliates keep members abreast of developments in their specialized fields and better able to address industry issues. 

		ABR, Accredited Buyer Representative Designees have completed a course focusing on all aspects of buyer representation and provided documentation of buyer agency experience.
		ABRM, Accredited Buyer Representative Manager Designees have taken and passed both the ABR® and ABRMSM course and provided documentation of past management experience.
		ALC, Accredited Land Consultant ALC's are the recognized experts in land brokerage transactions of five specialized types including farms and ranches.
		CCIM, Certified Commercial Investment Member® CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management valuation and investment analysis.
		CIPS, Certified International Property Specialist CIPS designees have demonstrated their international experience and participate in international programs offered by NAR.
		CPM, Certified Property Manager® CPM® members have expertise in every area of real estate management from residential to commercial to industrial.
		CRB, Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers The CRB designation provides superior member benefits to enhance the productivity and profitability.
		CRS®, Certified Residential Specialist® The CRS® designation is awarded to experienced Realtors® who complete advanced training in listing and selling.
		CRE, Counselor of Real Estate The CRE is a member of an international group of recognized professionals who provide seasoned, objective advice on property and land-related matters.
		e-PRO The new e-PRO certification helps Realtors® serve hyper-connected consumers of today and tomorrow. Real estate professionals will be trained in online conversation, reputation management, business tech tools, and more.
		Green Designation The Green designation is the definition of green professionalism, excellence, and leadership for today’s real estate practitioners. Specifically designed to address the educational needs of practitioners in residential, commercial, and property management markets.
		GRI, Graduate REALTOR® Institute The GRI program has helped the best and the brightest in the industry achieve a keen level of understanding of the real estate business.
		PMN, Performance Management Network The designation focuses on negotiating strategies and tactics, networking and referrals, business planning and systems, personal performance management and cultural differences in buying and selling.
		SFR, Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource Designed for real estate professionals at all experience levels, the SFR certification program provides training and support that helps real estate professionals specializing in short sales and foreclosures build confidence and become a trusted resource for their clients.
		SIOR, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® Individuals certified with the SIOR designation are top producers in industrial and office real estate brokerage.
		SRES®, Senior Real Estate Specialist The SRES® Designation program trains Realtors® to profitably and ethically serve the real estate needs of clients age 50+.
		National Association Family Certifications
		At Home with Diversity Certification AHWD certification relays to the public that those certified have been professionally trained in and are sensitive to a wide range of cultural issues.
		Broker Price Opinion Resource With the changing real estate landscape and the increased use of broker price opinions (BPOs) by market participants, the BPOR certification provides Realtors® with knowledge and skills to perform accurate and professional broker price opinions (BPOs) and comparative market analyses (CMAs).
		RSPS, Resort and Second-Home Markets Certification The RSPS certification recognizes Realtors® specializing in resort and second-home markets.
